It is a few months old but I'm guessing a lot of the roads in Rakhine state are now permit only also. The south is still out of bounds to foreigners and the only way to get to Dawei or Myeik is to fly.

Feel free to add more that you find.
This map is created during the military regimes ruled era. The States and Divisions are created according to their taste and insight. In this map there are 7 Divisions mostly populated by Burmese/Bamar majority and 7 States that are mostly populated by the relating ethnics. In the previous National Flag incorporated or installed by the first Dictator General Ne Win, there are 14 stars representing the 14 States and Divisions. Now this National Flag is obsolete and discontinue by the present quasi civilian Government. Changes are constant in this particular country.

Singularity Solo Sight:

Explanation of creating Federal States of Myanmar.
My aim and object is to unite all ethnic races including the majority Bamar race and be inclusive. There will be NO MORE divisions nor regions anymore thus eliminating the divide and rule mentality. In a way (or nyin-way) this process unify and consolidate the Union as we know it today becoming a Unified Union or United Entity. This country called “Myanmar” will be ONE country, ONE name, ONE nation, ONE constitution, ONE military, ONE people/citizens residing and surviving as ONE entity. No more divisions or regions ONLY States………….12 States. The name of the 12 States is up to the Citizens of Myanmar but for me I choose 7 major ethnic (out of 135 ethnic groups) names and 5 Bamar names which are……….
In respect of 7 ethnic names…..
1) Kachin
2) Chin
3) Shan
4) Kayin
5) Rakhine
6) Kayah
7) Mon

The eighth (8th) majority race Bamar/Burmese names………
1) Hantharwaddy
2) Ayeyarwaddy
3) Mandalay
4) Magway
5) Tanintharyi

My Personal Perspective “Proposal” Perception on Futuristic Map of Myanmar concerning on 12 States of Myanmar. Sagaing Division is divided up and merged into Chin, Kachin, Mandalay and Magway States so there is no more Sagaing. Yangon and Bago Divisions are also combined into one with the new name Hantharwaddy which also includes the Capital City Naypyitaw thus Hantharwaddy is the leading State of all States.

The Capital for the State of Kachin will be “Myitkyina”
The Capital for the State of Chin will be “Falam”
The Capital for the State of Shan will be “Taungyi”
The Capital for the State of Kayin will be “Pa-An”
The Capital for the State of Rakhine will be “Sittwe”
The Capital for the State of Kayah will be “Loikaw”
The Capital for the State of Mon will be “Mawlamyine”
The Capital for the State of Hantharwaddy will be “Yangon”
The Capital for the State of Ayeyarwaddy will be “Pathein”
The Capital for the State of Mandalay will be “Mandalay”
The Capital for the State of Magway will be “Magway”
The Capital for the State of Tanintharyi will be “Myeik”.

The Capital for Country MyanMar UNION and Special District will be “Naypyitaw” where Federal Government of Myanmar resides.

NOT the Official Map concerning on 14 States and Divisions.
In the official map the boundaries are different and also includes Yangon, Bago and Sagaing Divisions.

This map is changed and alternate by me creating an innovative oversight on Myanmar.
My abstract, philosophical & logical thinking does provides a futuristic perception and illustrated in this particular Map.
The Official and Current Map of Burma/Myanmar was done by predecessors military regimes led by first dictator General Ne Win and second dictator General Than Shwe.
Federal States of Myanmar is a creation by me. I am not affiliated with no one or group or organization or entity. Just a Singularity Solo.

Burmese Empire (Myanmar Kingdom 1580 A.D.)

Burmese Military was very strong and wise in the past. Here is the Map of King Bayintnaung (my way of spelling with “t”) or Bayinnaung Kingdom era.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Map_o ... 580%29.png
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_o ... se_history

In King Bayintnaung’s Myanmar Kingdom, it stretches from today’s part of India, China, Laos and entire Thailand included as Myanmar Kingdom. This Myanmar Kingdom is Led by the Brilliant, Wise and Strong Burmese King Ba-Yint-Naung (3 words). The meaning of Burmese name BaYintNaung is The “Elder King” which in terms means he is higher than the King. In those days although armory is primitive, this particular King led his Army to build a strong Kingdom with strength and wisdom. His palace was found in Bago City and I will reveal (later) and elaborate on his Palace which is situated in Hantharwaddy State (my creation) of Federal States of Myanmar (21st, 22nd Century and beyond). Bago Division of the Official Map.
Bayin means King in English AND Naung means Elder in English but then why do I put "t" in Bayin? Because in Burmese literature or language, there is a little "dot" that emphasize on the pronunciation of Bayin and also changes the meaning which means like possession. There is a slight difference by putting a little "dot".

King BaYintNaung’s Palace in Hantharwaddy (now Bago).

I've been to this place (Kambawzathadi) in Bago when I was in Burma/Myanmar in person. It was not that develop at the time. Just mostly ruins but I did visit the HALL building that stands at that time and space.

I have inserted the wording “(Mawtin Zoon)” on this webpage on Feb 13th, 2014 for perfection on the correct Burmese pronunciation written in English.

My favorite Region of Myanmar >>> Tanintharyi

The Map of Myeik (Mergui) Archipelago in Southern tip of Myanmar known as Tanintharyi Region. This map is very important to me and the world. Why? Because this region is the last unknown group of virgin 800 or so islands and islets that time had locked down for more than 50 years and counting. Still this region is so secluded and unknown that only a handful of people (from neighboring country Thailand) had venture. I personally strongly recommend this region to be Myanmar's biggest National Reserve parallel (in Epic proportion) with balance and cautious development (for tourism) in regards to native tribes, flora and fauna both land and sea creatures that dwell on these islands for hundreds of years known as Salon (Moken). These humans are expert divers (naturally without any modern equipments) and lives more on the water than on land (island).
I bet there will be many unknown and new species of creatures and flora in these paradise beaches and forests of Myanmar. Will and Can this region will become a potential eco, micro, environ tourism not to mention scuba diving and marine life exploration, beach lovers of the world to enjoy the Tranquility, Serene and Nature's best compliments to mankind? You bet it definitely will. No doubt about it and absolutely guaranteed. Satisfaction is also assured for the beauty and tranquility this Newly Created National Reserve that ranks second to none and will offer for those who dare to explore. expedite and endeavor the secrets of this natural beauty with pristine clear waters in conjunction with white soft and enticing sands of the virgin beaches. The dark shaded areas are the territories of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
There are 2 major towns (potential to become thriving, vibrant medium size Cities) that can be enter situated at the main land in this particular Region namely...Myeik and Kawthaung. Myeik City is located at the top of the map and Kawthaung City is located at the tip of Myanmar in the map, the Southern last City of Myanmar (so far). Hope yo'll can find it ! Enjoy.
There is a potential 3rd City to be expand and build. I will provide with map at later time for I had to pinpoint that potential City strategically located in the middle of Tanintharyi Region mainland of Myanmar.

I call it Twin Cities (potential). If you look at the map, one can see there are 2 minor towns namely Bokpyin and Lehnya (I spell it Lehnyar). Close to Lehnya there is another town named Bangala. Anyway, I choose Lehnyar and Bokpyin as Twin Potential Cities because they will support the Myeik Archipelago Excursion or Tourism.

The entire Region of Tanintharyi Map
http://myanmartravelinformation.com/mti ... tharyi.jpg
I also pick Myeik (not Dawei) as the Capital City of Tanintharyi. Why? Because Myeik is at the middle of Tanintharyi Region strategically located not to mention it has the Myeik Archipelago. If you click the map it will enlarge and can see all the towns that I mention above.

Myeik Archipelago is so new that many islands have NOT been name yet !! That much it is new to Myanmar let alone to the world at large,
Isn’t it ironic that the last island frontier of southern most territory is name in English? and this particular island name is …Christie Island.
This video is about Macleod Island, another English name island.

Map of Christie Island, Myanmar.

Note: In Myanmar, there are 7 States and 7 Regions (Divisions).

This Mysterious Myanmar Mountain is so difficult (although not very high) even the most seasoned Mountain climbers wants to run away from it and never wants to climb again. It is so challenging that it scares away the professional mountain climbers of the world. Are you guts enough to face this Mysterious Myanmar Mountain?

NATIONAL FLAGS of Burma/Myanmar.

Changing National Flags too often is not good for a country, any country. I don't think it is wise nor sensible to change National Flags now and then.

I hope the NLD doesn’t win in 2015 election. Why?
Here is my reason. NLD claim to change the current National Flag from Christmas 3 colors and White Bethlehem Star. One Big Star. They (opposition) wants to change back to the old “Socialist” Flag where the first Dictator Ne Win had imposed with the liking of USSR flag symbol of Hammer and Sickle emblem which Ne Win likes it and create instead Cogwheel (Hammer) indicating Industrious symbol and Paddy Branch (Sickle) which represents Agricultural base economy.
http://www.mmtimes.com/index.php/nation ... -flag.html
This is going backwards. I think the New Current Flag is much better than the “Socialist” one not to mention Daw Aung San Suu Kyi is being accused of Communist sympathizer. No wonder NLD likes socialism symbol old flag not to mention it is identical to Taiwan Flag.
Me ? I'll stay with the Christmas Color ONE white star of Bethlehem. Yes, the second dictator Than Shwe might have its own meaning as the tri-colors of Myanmar military ensignia and the white lone star as Burmese military helmets has a lone star too...BUT the hidden meaning can be Myanmar will flourish with Christianity theme slowly but surely. That is why I support and like the current Myanmar National Flag. The first national flag after the Independence is much better than the Socialist Flag created by the first dictator General Ne Win.
Burma Socialist Flag: This is the Flag that brings down a once prosperous country to least poorest nation on Earth. NLD wants to go backwards to Socialism, a doctrine that kills the Democracy?
Socialist Flag created by first dictator of Burma.

Current Republic Flag: This is the symbol of hope and reform. Like it or not, some reform did happen and hope for better Myanmar is on the horizon. Good symbolic flag indeed, in reality and in truth. Should keep this Flag and I'm all for it.

Elaborating the meaning of my version Republic of Myanmar Flag;
Five small stars surrounding the middle one Big Star are 5 Principles of Myanmar and they are………..
1) New Myanmar is build upon as a “Republic”.
2) Defend Freedom at all cost at all times.
3) Protect Dignity and Sovereignty
4) In pursuit of Happiness in life
5) Wisdom flourishing Nation.
The middle Big Star stands for the Unified Union.
The colors Red, White and Blue stands for
Red = Bravery and Courage
White = Justice
Blue = Freedom.
7 Stripes of Red and White stands for?
Here's the explanation.
7 Pillars of State & Region Unified as ONE.
SR 1 means Kachin (State) & Mandalay (Region)
SR 2 means Chin (State) & Sagaing (Region)
SR 3 means Rakhine (State) & Ayeyarwaddy (Region)
SR 4 means Shan (State) & Magway (Region)
SR5 means Kayah (State) & Bago (Region)
SR 6 means Kayin (State) & Yangon (Region)
SR 7 means Mon (State) & Tanintharyi (Region)
In detail explanation it is all the Regions are Burmese race majority dwellers and that Burmese as the number 1 major race intertwine with ALL other races starting from Kachin, Chin, Shan, Kayah, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon down to over a hundred ethnic races.
In short the 7 Pillars are the States and Regions of Myanmar building a One Nation.
